Seven Against Thebes.

The week before i had the chance to shoot Babis Anastasopoulos concept art made for the Aisxylos classic ''Seven Against Thebes'',
the tragic story on the curse of the house of Laios.

Babis work is full of symbolism's, but this is not an art blog, and we will talk on the technical side of the shooting.

So this is a three dimensional piece of art, and when it was shot for the theater leaflet, that wasn't obvious at all.

Giving the feeling of a three dimensional object and texture is relatively easy using shadows and proper depth of field, as i do for my friend Theofilos creations but
the challenge here was that the artist had already created the shadows he needed and did not want any more from my lights.

After a lot of tweaking with light modifiers and reflectors and some minor post processing we reached the desirable result.

We also made five prints on a mild textured fine art paper and i'm very happy to say that Babis, a man with a truly sharp eye was more than pleased when he saw them.

Hope you enjoy it as well.
